Eileen and Gordon Nixon hired Szostak Design in 2008 to upfit a storefront space for a new salon in Chapel Hill’s East 54 LEED development.
Citrine Salon’s sustainable design features an abundance of daylight, energy efficient lighting and HVAC, and bamboo flooring. The modern and minimalist storefront is complete with eight styling stations, three shampoo stations and four drying stations, as well as an aesthetic room with massage tables, a hair coloring bar and coffee bar
Citrine has since become an award-winning salon and was named as one of the Top 100 Salons in the U.S. by ELLE Magazine four years in a row.
Szostak Build served as general contractor for this project, which was completed in 2009.
