Josh joined Szostak design as a student intern in 2022 becoming a full-time designer in June of 2023. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Josh moved to the Triangle to study at North Carolina State University, graduating with his Masters of Architecture Degree in 2023. During his studies Josh achieved the Energy and Technology Certificate and also recently received an AIA Aspire Student Honor Award. Josh received his Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree from Kent State University in Ohio where he was also a student-athlete as a member of the Men’s Cross Country and Track & Field team.

Before joining Szostak Design, Josh was a student intern at GPD Group in Akron, Ohio for three summers. He was a part of their Education department, helping design new K-12 schools for the surrounding communities in Northeast Ohio. With Szostak, Josh has worked on a new build residential project as well as commercial projects from pre design to construction documentation. He is particularly interested in sustainable design.

Outside of the office, Josh enjoys playing on his adult league soccer team, collecting sneakers, and hanging out at the beach or paddle boarding on a lake with his girlfriend.
