Sarah Howell is a registered architect and LEED accredited professional with a focus on sustainable design and historic preservation. She studied architecture at Yale University and has 15 years of experience in a range of project types, from institutional to custom residential. Sarah’s practice as a sustainable architect was defined by her role as Project Manager for Brad Pitt’s Make It Right foundation, where she managed the design and construction of a LEED Platinum community in post-Katrina New Orleans. She is a scholar of sustainable prototyping and has lectured extensively on the topic, most notably at the GreenBuild Conference and Expo, 2010 and 2011. For Szostak Design, Sarah has worked on the LEED Silver Buffalo Road Aquatics Center and is currently engaged in several commercial renovation projects, including the Fuquay-Varina Arts Center and the Chase Dining Hall Renovation at UNC-Chapel Hill.
